We planned a family house for a dear friend and his family in Bükkszentkereszt.
The plot has a considerable slope, but has a nice view of the surrounding hills.
When designing the building, cost efficiency was an important consideration, as well as blending into the landscape.
The house was designed to fit the terrain with a staggered layout. This means that the anticipated excavation costs will be lower than for cut and fill.
The simple and narrow building envelope's spatial barriers do not require thick cross-section supports, which also saves costs.
To reduce the heat load on the roof in summer, a pale grey tile roofing was chosen instead of the usual red or the now fashionable anthracite grey.
The building meets current energy standards with heat recovery ventilation and also meets the required 25% renewable energy target with solar panels installed on the roof.
