Year of design: 2021
Designer: Bianki Dániel DLA
Status: Under construction

Gross floor area: 385 m2

We were commissioned to convert a residential building that had been vacant for years. A special feature of the project was that the 4-storey building - basement, ground floor, first floor, attic - required an internal central staircase, as the stairs to the upper floors were in different locations. It is surprising that the southernmost side of the building, which is the sunniest, has no windows at all, while several of the main rooms are oriented to the north, which creates unfavourable lighting conditions in the interior.
During the renovation, the interior room connections will be transformed and large glass surfaces will be added to all main rooms, so that the interiors will have sufficient natural lighting at all times of the day.
Of course, to protect against excessive heat in summer, in addition to the thermal insulation, external louvre blinds will be installed in front of all balcony doors and windows, and the west-facing terrace will be fitted with a garden shading structure with movable louvres and sliding shutters.
The building will have a heat recovery ventilation system and will be heated by a conventional gas boiler.
