The Client approached me for the conversion of an existing building.
The building was built in the 60s with a pillar frame structure and lightweight aluminium cladding.
The client's requirement was to convert the building into an office building with an image that would give it a more pronounced residential/industrial function, but at the same time not be ostentatious in appearance.

The Kazincbarcika Municipality transformed the central primary school building, which had been unused for years, into an incubation office building with the help of Swiss grant funding.
The building was renovated by grouting basement insulation due to its deteriorated condition, in addition to replacing the façade windows, insulating the façade and insulating the flat roof.
The original building was built in the early 1960s with a flat roof design, to which an unbuilt high pitched roof was added in the 1990s. The building was granted local protection in 2013.
The building houses the Kazincbarcika Municipal Television. During the renovation, the building was equipped with a modern mechanical system, central air conditioning and ventilation.
The original plans of the building were designed by the Budapest Residential Building Design Company.

In January 2013, the Municipality of Kazincbarcika City submitted a tender under KEOP-5.5.0/A/12-2013-0319 for the energy modernisation of the building, which was won. The architectural aspects of the energy modernisation include the insulation of the building's façade, flat-roof insulation and the replacement of external windows and doors. The original plans for the building were drawn up by the Residential Building Design Company, and I have consulted the Borsod County Chamber of Architects on the copyright.

The owner of the mine approached me to design an office building to improve the comfort of the employees by replacing the office containers.

The design took account of the field architectural traditions of the area, such as the porch layout and the high roof enclosed by gable walls. The ground floor boundary walls are covered with freshwater limestone, except for the unheated entrance hall, which is covered with a metal sheet with a shadow gap. The upstairs boundary wall will be faced with double timber batten cladding with an exterior cherry lazur finish. Also for a more traditional look, I opted for a tiled roof on the high roof, but with a version without eaves in keeping with contemporary architecture, with a horizontal eaves design.

Kazincbarcika - Office building - renovation and conversion, energy modernisation:

Refurbishment and conversion of an extremely outdated, old office building with tender funding. The façade is a colourful composition in line with the motto of Kolorcity, or "Kazincbarcika is a colourful city", which, unlike the figurative façade paintings (depicting people, animals and objects) that have been completed in the city so far, depicts a grid pattern of geometric triangles with coloured inserts.

We were approached by a group of companies dealing with steel structures to design a covered passenger shelter. In the picture below you can see the result of this exciting design assignment!

We converted two adjacent buildings in a quiet, suburban setting. One will become a studio, the other a residence.
The client wanted a modern building, so we replaced the design of the existing buildings with a contemporary, minimalist look. Both buildings have large glass-faced rooms facing east. These were designed with fixed louvre blinds. The character of the buildings is defined by the low pitch semi-pitch roof design and the glass facades with louvred shading. The environment is diverse, each building in the street has different stylistic features, so we thought that the different facade design would add colour to the streetscape.
